We have been for you at the GC in Leipzig and have made an videointerview with Ivan Sullic and Bill Roper! But unfortunatelly our micro had a defect, and so we have to write it down here:
HG-DrDrake: Wil it be possible for players to programm addons and include them into the game?
Bill Roper: Yes, we propose that. We want to give our players as much freedom in modifying our game as we could give them without permit them to include cheats and hacks.
HG-DrDrake: What about the multiplayerpart? Will it be free or do we have to pay dues?
Bill Roper: We still haven't agreed with that, we are thinking about different kinds of capabilities. We even think of the possibility to bring out two kinds of playing online. One kind for free, and one kind with monthly dues!
HG-DrDrake: Are you thinking of preparing HG: L for e-sports?
Ivan Sullic: Yes and No. Of course we will contain rankink systems and ladders into our game, but htese thoughts are totally sketchy at the moment. That won't be concret until the game is released and we can acess on new datas. So it could happen that such things will first be playable after a patch or with an Add-on, if we didn't made it this far until the release date.
HG-DrDrake: That means you are really planning an Add-on for HG: L?
Ivan Sullic: Thats not definite, but we won't take HG:L aside after its released, I promise, we keep on working on it, if the players like it and enjoy it.
HG-DrDrake: Could you tell us something abotu the third class?
Bill Roper(laughing): No, i really can't, but I can tell you this: It will be really cool, and you will love it!
Hg-DrDrake: So we have to be patient till the BETA. Can you tell us when it will be?
Bill Roper: A precise date isn't defninite, but we are set finishing it this year!
Ivan Sullic: But we can't promise that both Betas, closed and open will be this year.
HG-DrDrake: Are you going to devide the Beta geographic? Só, first in America and then in Europe for example?
Ivan Sullic: That belongs to our network guys! When they tell us that we can start it worldwide, we will do that.
HG-DrDrake: When do you plan the release date?
Bill Roper: As soon as possible, but there is still a lot to be done.
HG-DrDrake: So HG:L won't be a second Duke Nukem Forever?
Ivan Sullic: Many Studios promise the people any scarce dates, because the pressure the things grows as early as possible to publish, constantly. Then one into delay and the date come burst. Now one is put of the fans as a liar. The other side is that the Publisher includes the dates also into its calculation and if the date bursts than minus booked and affects negatively market prices. We want to naturally avoid both, therefore we do not commit ourselves at present to a date.
Much of what you can see here and play here is deprecated, an older version. For example the interface, or the class attributes. In our newer version(playable at the tokio game show, annotation from us), you Interface doesn't glancce so much, it looks dirtier, and it is attuned to what class you play.
HG-DrDrake: Ok, lets talk about the hardware prerequisites.
Bill Roper: We can't really say something about that, because the game isn't finished at the moment. We are programming it for DirectX10, so it will be playable on Windows Xp and Vista. But we work on it, to keep it as low as it can be. Say it so, if you can play WoW on your computer, you will be able to play Hellgate, okay?
HG-DrDrake: What is your feeling, your feedback when you are here, for the GC?
Ivan Sullic: So, it's a bit of problem with the language, not as good as at the E³, where we can talk with each players, but yesterday were much of journalists here, and we enjoyed it, so its all positive and good. And untill now, no one said that our game sucks, so that's a good sign, isn't it?(smiling)
HG-DrDrake: So thanks for taking the time and talking to us, have fun at the GC!
